2010 Adventure Therapy Best Practices Conference
Stretching Toward the Next Horizon
of Adventure Therapy
In 2005, TAPG set out to host a conference that explored best practices in adventure therapy by focusing on practical application and experiential methods. That initial gathering was such a success that in 2007, we reconvened to build on the experience in 2005. This year, AEE's TAPG is hosting the 3rd Adventure Therapy Best Practices Conference at Camp Mary Orton - a setting perfectly suited to fulfill our conference's goal of exploring best practices through primary experience. With 167 wooded acres featuring initiatives, high ropes, and climbing facilities that can be used in workshop offerings, this conference promises to deliver a unique and memorable professional development opportunity.
Conference Highlights:
- Presentation of best practices for adventure therapy by top professionals in the field
- Content targeted toward moving adventure therapy forward to its next horizon using experiential formats
- Keynotes that challenge our thinking and explore the future directions of adventure therapy
- Opportunities to interact with volunteer "clients" in workshop presentations
- Community-building experiences including community campfire meals, opportunities to climb or zip, and onsite evening entertainment

We wish to thank Godman Guild/Camp Mary Orton, The Ohio State University College of Social Work and The Buckeye Ranch for their generous sponsorship of this conference!
