Association for Experiential Education (AEE) - Therapeutic Adventure Professional Group (TAPG)
History

History

TAPG is one of the oldest professional groups within AEE, having been established in the late 1970's.  The group is active in the Association with membership totaling over 650. TAPG was originally known as Adventure Alternatives in Corrections, Mental Health, and Special Populations (or affectionately as A2.)

TAPG was developed in response to AEE members who wished to network more closely with those engaging in similar work. The group changed it's name in 1992 to more accurately describe the nature of our memberships work.

TAPG supports the development of the professional structure within the Association and pursue our own professional development. We are always looking for new projects and ways to support the membership. We see our group and our history as dynamic and ever-changing, and hope that you will find a way to contribute to TAPG and the field.
